About

Our Mission

Create a community recognized for responsible pet ownership and humane treatment of animals through offering basic pet wellness and spay/neuter services, public education and placement of companion animals.

Who We Are

Serving Hall County and many other counties across Georgia since 1913, the Humane Society of Northeast Georgia (HSNEGA) provides vital services to animals and people alike. As a private, non-profit organization, HSNEGA is supported by private donations, grants, bequests, investments and some fees for services.

What We Do

HSNEGA is a no-kill facility, meaning our placement rate is greater than 90%. We take in animals from owners and other rescue organizations as space allows. All healthy or treatable animals stay with us until they find their FURever home. We only euthanize when severe or untreatable illnesses or behavior issues arise AND only when we’ve exhausted all other options. See our Lifesaving Stats here.

Give with Confidence

At HSNEGA, we want to remember the amazing rescues that come to stay with us. All of the animals pictured on this site have been with us at some point. Some have already found their forever homes, but some may still be here at HSNEGA! The Humane Society of Northeast Georgia is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization (Federal Tax ID #58-0678817) and has received top recognition from the following charity rating organizations:
