New year, new you. Does that phrase sound familiar? New Year’s resolutions come and go every January 1 and, according to Psychology Today, the most popular resolutions are losing weight and exercising more. Yet by January 2 most people have already fallen short of their goal. So rather than spending $30 on a gym membership, here are three suggestions for using that $30 a month towards SAVING LIVES!
Become an HSNEGA Volunteer!
Dreading the boring treadmill but want to get your steps in? Walking dogs at the Humane Society of Northeast Georgia not only provides the rescues with PAWsitive enrichment and socialization, but it’s also a great way for YOU to break out of the mundane treadmill routine! It’s also a great way to get the steps in for the new FitBit you just got for Christmas! Better yet, it’s not $30 per month like a gym membership. The $30 administrative fee is one-time and gets you a nifty HSNEGA volunteer t-shirt, apron, and nametag!
Other than taking the rescues for walks you can run, jump, and play with the rescues in the HSNEGA Bark Park! During the warmer months, there are pools for the rescues to play in and, year-round, there are toys and enrichment obstacles for you and the rescues to enjoy. The best part of a rescue’s day is going for walks, playing in the Bark Park, and spending time with YOU. Be the person the rescues think you are while becoming a healthier YOU and become a HSNEGA volunteer today!
Become an Adoption Angel!
Want to help an animal waiting for adoption at the Humane Society of Northeast Georgia have a better chance to move quickly into a forever home? Then become an ADOPTION ANGEL! Most of the rescues currently at HSNEGA have been here since 2018. Many have even spent Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s at HSNEGA, alone and without a family.
Adoption Angels help cover a portion of the adoption fee for the rescued, homeless animals in our care, lowering the fee and, in turn, hopefully increasing their chance to be adopted. Adoption Angels can sponsor any animal they wish, however, HSNEGA respectfully suggests sponsoring older and longer tenured rescues. The suggested donation to be an Adoption Angel is $50 which covers half of HSNEGA’s typical $100 adoption fee; however, any donation is welcome. Make one of your New Year’s resolutions to give hope to a homeless rescue of finding a loving home in 2019!
Become a LifeSaver Circle Member!
You’d give a gym $30 a month, so why not choose to SAVE LIVES monthly instead? By giving just $30 a month, you’ll be giving less than $1 a day to change the life of a rescue. You’ll help rescues like Beau who has spent two New Year’s with HSNEGA and has not had a family to love him since 2017!
By becoming a Life Saver Circle member you become more than a supporter… YOU become the assurance that homeless and abandoned rescues in our community receive the shelter, food and care they need. Your monthly donation can bring hope to the thousands of animals that are served by HSNEGA each year, and help many more obtain a chance for a family to love, perhaps the first they’ve ever known. Make the this New Year, and every year, brighter and become a member of the Life Saver Circle TODAY!
