Tickets ON SALE for Art with Heart

The Humane Society of Northeast Georgia (HSNEGA) will host Art with Heart, an art showing and silent auction, Friday, May 13 from 7-10 p.m.
“Most of our fundraising events are sporting events, such as our golf tournament and 5K run,” says Rick Aiken, president of the HSNEGA. “We wanted to host a new event with a festive focus that would appeal to a different type of animal welfare supporter.”
The benefit will take place at the Elks Club in Gainesville, located on Riverside Drive. The event will feature a wide variety of art including fine art, folk art, pottery, woodworking, jewelry and sculpture donated by renowned local, regional and national artists. All artwork will be available for silent auction with starting bids in an affordable range of $20-$200.
The event also will showcase local musical artists singing "in the round" including April Cummings, Chad Bowmar, Bruce Adams, Lauren St. Jane, and Stephanie Grenier as well as entertainment by magician Jeff McClure.Ticket price includes a dinner buffet; a cash bar also will be available.
HSNEGA also will be accepting donations of artwork for Art with Heart through Wed., May 11, 2011. All types of art are encouraged, whether original or previously owned, and ranging in style from fine to folk, jewelry to textiles, garden to woodwork/furniture.
Tickets for the event are $35 per person. A limited number of tickets/table are available for the event; the requested RSVP date is Friday, May 6. If available, tickets also will be sold at the door the night of the event.
