Do you think your pet is special enough to be in print? Because the Humane Society of Northeast Georgia (HSNEGA) is looking for the coolest pets in the area—from pure bred pups to All-American mutts—to feature in their 2011 Calendar!

Any pet parents in northeast Georgia are invited to enter their pets in the Calendar Contest. Any animal is eligible, and 13 lucky winners will be chosen to be featured in the HSNEGA 2011 calendar and will receive a professional photography session and an 8x10 portrait from Celestial Studios in Gainesville (valued at $200).

“We started the calendar last year as a fundraiser, and we received great response,” says Rick Aiken, HSNEGA President. “Last year, we featured shelter animals, but this year, we wanted to be able to feature some of the great animals we’ve seen at our events and out in the community.”

The entry fee for the calendar is $20 for the first pet and $10 for each additional pet with no limit on the number of pets a participant can enter. All entered “contestants” will be included in the calendar; however, 13 winners will be chosen to be featured in the calendar as the “Cover Pet” or “Pet of the Month.”

The calendar will be printed and available for sale in October 2010. All monies raised from the entry fees and sale of the calendar will be use to support the animals at HSNEGA until they are adopted, including covering costs for their shelter and nourishment, vaccinations and spay-neuter surgery.

Rules for Entry are:
• Any contestant entering MUST be available Aug 23 - Sept 10, 2010 (during the week) for a photo shoot.
• Please submit a 4 x 6 NON-RETURNABLE color photo by mail or electronically with the Pet’s name & breed and the Owner’s name & contact information labeled on the back or in the body of the email (see email address below).
• All animals are eligible, inclucing exotics, bird, fish, rabbits, etc.
• Photos sent electronically will not be considered for judging until entry fee payment is received.
• HSNEGA employees and immediate family members are not eligible.
