JOB OPENING
Mini-Adoption Specialist


Hours: Every Saturday, 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
Pay: $7.25 per hour to start


Description: The Specialist acts as a facilitator for off-site adoptions for the Humane Society of Northeast Georgia (HSNEGA). Mini-adoptions are held at the Flowery Branch PetSmart and Buford Petco. Each Saturday, the Specialist will choose which HSNEGA animals to take to the scheduled adoption site, coordinate the paperwork, and prepare the animals for traveling to the adoption location.

On site, the Specialist will set up, maintain and break down the adoption area, including set up cages, keep the area clean, water and feed the animals, and other general animal care. The Specialist will be trained in HSNEGA adoption procedures and will be responsible for working with the public to facilitate adoptions, completing paperwork, and finalizing adoptions including taking payment. At the end of the adoption event, the Specialist will transport and deliver the animals back to HSNEGA, return the animals to their kennels and complete the paperwork.

The Mini-Adoption Specialist represents the Humane Society of Northeast Georgia and must behave professionally at all times and in a way that expresses our mission. The Specialist will drive HSNEGA vehicles to each site and must have a safe driving record. Also, HSNEGA is a drug-free workplace and the Specialist is randomly drug screened.

Qualifications & Requirements:
-Must be 18 years of age or older to apply
-Must pass all drug screenings
-Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
-Good driving record and ability to drive oversized van/truck
-Professional attitude and able to interact in positive manner with public
-Strong organizational skills and ability to juggle multiple activities
-Must believe in HSNEGA’s mission and have a passion for finding homes for shelter animals
-Previous experience in animal adoptions a plus but not required

Interested candidates can pick-up/complete an application at HSNEGA during normal business hours (Mon.-Sat., 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; Sun., 1-5 p.m.). Position will be open until filled.
