The Humane Society of Northeast Georgia (HSNEGA) is hoping to find the 200+ animals in its care a life-long “Home for the Holidays” this year by offering 50% off the shelter’s regular adoption fee. Typically $100 per animal, the adoption fee will be $50 for all animals at the shelter this Saturday, December 10.

“Our shelter takes in approximately 2,000 homeless pets each year, and our goal this holiday season is to find as many as we can a new home where they can experience a happy life with a loving family,” says Rick Aiken, President of HSNEGA. “We hope this adoption special will encourage people to adopt this holiday season because, after all, what is a better gift to give a rescued animal than a new home, and what better gift to give your family than the unconditional love of a rescued animal?”

In addition to half-price adoption fees, HSNEGA also will be offering other special incentives to visit the shelter this Saturday:

-  The 2012 HSNEGA Calendar will be buy one, get one free, a great stocking stuffer for the pet-lover in your life;

-  HSNEGA also is collecting food for the Food Bank of Northeast Georgia, so anyone who brings two cans of (human) food to the shelter Saturday will receive a ticket to be entered into a drawing to receive a $50 HSNEGA gift certificate; and

-  All animals adopted during Home for the Holidays also will go home with a bag of goodies including coupons, treats and other special gifts.

All adoptable animals at HSNEGA are current up-to-date on their vaccinations, microchipped, heartworm tested, up-to-date on heartworm and flea/tick preventative, health-checked, and, most importantly, spayed or neutered.
