Pet Loss Support Group

Pet Loss Support Group

The loss of a beloved pet can be very difficult. Sometimes family, and friends do not always understand how drastically the loss can affect us. This makes it difficult to support the grief we often feel when losing a pet. The Humane Society of Northeast Georgia’s Pet Loss Support Group provides a safe environment where these thoughts and emotions are shared by others going through similar circumstances. Our Pet Loss Support Group is facilitated by Christine Dalton a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and staff member of Integrity Counseling of Jefferson. If you are...

  • Feeling lost without your pet
  • Wondering what to tell your child about the loss of a pet
  • Finding that family and friends fail to understand or attempt to minimize your loss
  • Wondering if it is too soon to get another pet
  • Still grieving for a pet you had some time ago
  • Considering euthanasia

Then the Humane Society of Northeast Georgia’s Pet Loss Support Group may help. The Pet Loss Support Group is open to everyone, from families to individuals, and is appropriate for those who have recently lost a pet, are anticipating the death of a pet, are preparing for the choice of euthanasia, or are mourning an old loss.
